What a week- June 3, 2013

Holy cow! Jenica is amazing isnt she?

Glad to hear that Bethany had a great birthday.

We had quite a week here in Laval! We got to a lot of things, like service for our Elders Quorum President Brother Valiente, go on a split with Elder Foster and Elder Bareno, and have Mission Leadership Council. We were just blessed with so many miracles as well..... it was pretty amazing.

First, I got to go with Elder Bareno into our area for a split on Thursday, and it was so fun! They have been struggling a little bit with finding in their area, and he told me all he really wants to do is 1) Be able to do a whole contact in French by himself and 2) Find someone to give them a Book of Mormon or to be able to teach them. So we had a couple lessons throughout the day, and then when one of them was canceled, we got some extra time to find. We were having a good time, and finding some potentials, but then I asked him if he wanted to then try to do the next contact by himself, with a prayer in my heart that it would go well. And lo and behold, a girl named Patricia opens up. She was so nice, especially as Elder Bareno explained the message of the Restoration, as he really wanted to do the whole contact by himself. He was pretty nervous, but then asked her if she would want to take the book and read it, and when she said yes, he just about fell over hah. It was so awesome. He got to set up another time with her for us to come back, so we'll be seeing her this week.
It was such a blessing to find her. It was really the only truly good contact of the day, and it wasnt an accident that it was Elder Bareno who did the contact. Im very grateful for our Heavenly Father who gave us that little gift to help him see that having faith to find people produces miracles. Blessings!

We were then blessed yesterday. Tracey Clark came to church, while Danny and the boys were camping. Valerie, Pierre, Christian and Dorcas Flores came, which allowed Valeria to be interviewed for her baptism! So long story short (I know, sorry) President Cannon came to give her the interview, and we were pretty worried the whole time. But she passed, and is doing very very well. President said shes ready to go. We're super excited for her! Itll be a fun push for us this week to get everything ready for Saturday.
And yes, it had been amazing to see the changes that have occurred in her. And, with the hope that this will only continue, its really a blessing to be able to see this.

We were also really blessed again with two other less active brothers who came to church. They really seemed like they enjoyed it, and are having very positive experiences with the church in a very long time.

Our good friend Innes as well came to church! Shes a wonderful lady from Bolivia! She just loves having us over, and would be ready for baptism, but some members went a little too fast with her on some things and kind of scared her. But we were able to take it back, and shes loving every bit of what we share with her.

We had a wonderful training at Conference on the expectations we have as missionaries, or what is expected of us. It was really great to hear, to refocus our efforts as well as to help the missionaries around us understand what the Lord expects of us as we work here. And that we will receive specific blessings, especially those stated in our call letters, such as increased testimony and knowledge of the truth, greater happiness than every before, and you will be led to those who will accept the message. And let me just tell you, it sure hasnt been easy, but Ive seen that all of those promised blessings are true. I'm just excited to continue working here.

Do you have anything you'd like me to tell you? hah I really hope that you're satisfied with the info I try to give every week, even though Im sure you want more. This week we're booked, we have an all day Zone Study (Its explained a little bit in KALDT), Valeries baptism on Saturday along with transfer calls that night, and a push to really make a difference in the zone.

Thanks for your prayers!

I've shared Ether 12:6 with a number of people this week, because it's been something Ive really been thinking about, especially after President Cannon gave us a great training on having Faith in Christ.

Love yous!
