Im glad you all had a crazy week at home, because it sure was crazy here in Laval!
First things first, The Clarke family did get baptized on Saturday!! It was a miracle. I can't even describe the changes that have happened in them, especially Danny, from 4 weeks ago, to Saturday, then to Sunday after church. Holy cow. Goes to show the power of prayers and fasting.
They passed their interviews with Elder Lanning on Tuesday,
and were very happy. We then asked if they wanted President Jarvis to
baptize them, and they said no hah they didn't want to bother him. So
they asked Elder Pehrson to baptize Danny, and Tracy and Ryan asked me
to baptize them. I obviously felt very honored.
The service on Saturday
went really well, we had about 30 or 40 members there supporting them,
and a couple friends that they brought. President Jarvis (the Stake
President of the Mount Royal stake) is their very good friend, the one
who introduced them to the church 2 years ago, and he was there and gave
a talk, and then also did the confirmations Sunday
morning. Danny and Tracy were pretty nervous hah, but then after the
baptisms, they were just beaming. It was amazing to see the differences
in them.
- example. Danny has always been nervous and
hesitant about the church, even though he comes mostly every week. Then
after the baptism, he ran around the church taking pictures because he
"felt so good" and he "wanted to remember this day forever". Hah. And
then on Sunday
we had our friend Jimmy come to church for the first time, and Danny
welcomed him proudly, and said "you're in the right place". Man, that
was music to our ears.

We got
to go to the Clarkes' home afterwards with the Jarvis family for lunch,
and it was so fun. They even broke out in a water fight (right after we
left hah) but both the families are just so great together.
Earlier in the week it was crazy, because of other miracles and things that happened. To be brief, on Tuesday
we did a Zone fast for our team in Joliette, because their committed
investigator relapsed on her alcohol and cigarettes big time, and then
all of their other investigators dropped them, and their branch is
having a lot of problems. Then Tuesday
was a day full of miracles. For the first time in 3 weeks they found an
investigator (two actually). We found two that day as well, and the
sisters found 2. And it was super hot that day hah, Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday
was also hot, and we were knocking for a couple hours in the afternoon,
then it suddenly rained, and poured. We got pretty soaked.
But then Friday
was even worse. We were all weekly planning, and Elder Stillwell in our
apartment came into our room and said "I think you should close the
window because I think a storm is coming." We said, "really?" And then
the storm hit. Hah it was like a mini hurricane, Ive never seen a storm
move in that fast. It blew out our electricity within 10 seconds and
knocked over a most of the trees in our neighbourhood, and it only
lasted for about 20 or 30 minutes. It was crazy!
So from Friday afternoon to Sunday night we didnt have any electricity in our apartment (but thank goodness the chapel had some).
Friday night we spent knocking in the rain which was super fun.
Then of course, was Saturday
with the baptismal service. We knocked and had a dinner appointment
with a member family, and then had transfer calls....... And I'm getting
transfered. That was super sad. It was pretty sad saying bye to the
Clarke family on yesterday after church, but Elder Pehrson is staying,
so that helped them. Good thing, eh?
So I'm going to Sherbrooke in the Riv-Sud (now its
called the Longueuil South zone. Its the area right next to Mont
Saint-Hilaire! My first area. So Ive been there a couple times on
splits, so its going to be great. And I get to train, which Im pretty
nervous about, but its going to be exciting.
And then I'm the District Leader, but the district is 2 teams big, so thats pretty nice hah. Its going to be a lot of fun.
Im
sure going to miss Laval though. With Elder Christensen and Elder
Pehrson, I got to learn so much and see so many good and bad weeks. So
many miracles as well. Elder Pehrson will be able to continue here with a
lot of good things happening soon.
Has Dallin written from the MTC yet?
