Gospel- July 2, 2013

Oh family! How are you doing? So great to hear from you. Im glad you all had a good week.

We had quite a week here in Laval! Basically, we got to see the Clarks, and get down to the problem about what was holding them back. So, we taught about the law of tithing and also faith and how it works, and it seemed to really help Danny out. It seemed to do enough good, that we set with him for the family the 20th of July for them to be baptized. So, here we go! We're sure praying!

Then our good friend Marie Juline came to church for the first time on Sunday! Frère Guy Simard picked her up, and she loved it. She participated actually quite a bit in Les Principes de L'Èvangile, which we taught, and then we got to see them for a little lesson right after church. She said, within 15 minutes of sacrament meeting she received the answer to her prayers, that this is where God wants her to be. So she's going strong for her baptism on the 3rd of août. Marie is wonderful.

We did a lot contacting this week, since almost all of our investigators have gone on vacation. So it gave us a lot of time to go find. And we're preparing our Zone Study for tomorrow, which is going to (hopefully) go well. President Patrick and his family are going to come and present themselves to everyone!

One thing that Ive been really thinking about frequently has been what President Cannon taught recently to us - that everything revolves around the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Ive found that to be true. If we have any problem or misunderstanding in the mission, or in life, its because in some way, we are not living or understanding the Gospel, as in the steps of Faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, the holy ghost, and enduring to the end. Its amazing to see that really all things that we encounter every single day can be looked at through the lens of the gospel, and everything becomes much more clear. For example, we've been having a little trouble finding recently. We noticed that sometimes it is hard to go finding for a couple hours and not find anyone. But, as we took a step back and looked at what we can do, we decided to work on it as we would through the Gospel. So we decided to have more faith in Christ, and that he is preparing others to receive us. We put that into action by going out and talking to everyone we can. We change any actions that wouldn't be in accordance with this, or in other words, we repent. And through this action we promise to God that we'll be better, especially through personal prayer. And he blesses us with his Spirit as we go out and try to help others. And then we see miracles, big and small.

The Gospel is true. Its really the power that motivates the soul to be better, and to aim us back towards our home above. I love this work.

Good job to Dallin and Mom who told me about their experiences recently! You all are awesome, but special star stickers to Dallin and Mommymom.
Keep it up!

Mom, I love you. I'm glad you're doing well. And I hope that you're as happy as can be. I hope you know as well how many lessons that Ive learned from you I get to teach to people here in Quebec. You're affecting people for the better even all the way over here. Thanks for all you do.

Love to all, and to all une bonne semaine.

I dont know if I included these pictures yet, but these are (some) of the members of the Mendoza family, my dear friends. They all left this week, for Mexico, and Alberta, in order to find work and restart. Love them.
